NEWS CENTER - Syrian Government Delegation left the table during the Syria Constitution Committee negotitations due to the attacks of Turkey against North and East Syria.

The meetings of the Syrian Constitutional Committee, which began under the auspices of the United Nations on October 30, continued yesterday at the UN Geneva Bureau. Syria Special Represantative Geir Pedersen chaired the negotiations consisting of 45 constitutionan committee members.

In the second round meeting, which was closed to the press chaired by Special Representative Pedersen, it was learned that the ‘opposition’ groups drew attention to the attacks  against Idlib.

3 CONDITIONS FROM SYRIAN GOVERNMENT

Ahmad Kuzbari, the head of the Syrian Government delegation, presented new agenda items to the committee on condition that it was to be accepted.

Kuzbari's conditions was 'to fight against terrorism in Syrian territory, the lifting of sanctions against Syria and the condemnation of the attacks of Turkey against North and East Syria and demonstrating a common stance against these attacks'.

IF THE 3 CONDITIONS ARE NOT TO BE ACCEPTED...

Kuzbari, stating that these 3 conditions are meant to protect Syria's independence, unityi sovereignity and its territorial integrity, said: "If this committee will not accept these conditions which are for the benefit of the Syrian people, we will consider there are instructions from external forces."

'HOW WILL THE TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY BE PROTECTED WITHOUT STOPPING THE INVASION?'

Kuzbari said to the UN officials 'If a common stance against Turkey's invasion against Syrian territory will not be demonstrated and this invasion will not be stopped, how will Syria's territorial integrity and independence, which are the basic conditions of the constitutional negotiations be protected?'

SYRIAN REGIME LEFT THE TABLE

The Syrian Government Delegation chaired by Ahmed Kuzbari who presented these 3 basic conditions, left the meeting when these conditions were not accepted by the 'opposition' and went back to their hotel in Geneva.

While the UN has not made a statement on whether the meeting will continue or not,  it was learned that Special Represantative Pedersen is trying to get the regime committee back to the table.

Pedersen who briefed the UN Security Council recently, have warned the Constitutional Committe that Turkey's invasion attacks will interrupt the process.
