URFA- Hasan Aydın, acquitted of the murder of 2 police officers in Ceylanpınar, was sentenced to 6 times aggravated life sentence  due to the statements of two people whose statements were taken under torture.

In the murder case of two police officers in Ceylanpınar on July 20, 2015 which was considered a reason to terminate the solution process where all defendants were acquitted after a 3 year judicial process, Hasan Aydın was acquitted as well after being imprisoned for 2 years and 8 months. He, then was sentenced to 6 times aggravated life in prison with the statements of 2 people who said they gave their deposition under torture in court.

The only reason Aydın and 8 other people to be sentenced to 6 times aggravated life in prison is the statement of 2 people who said they signed the statements under torture while they were in custody. Attorney of Aydın, Hüseyin Akay stated that there is no evidence of his client commiting the alleged crimes, and the fact that they are being punished so heavily even though noone was killed or injured in the incident in question is the police reflex of putting a person behind bars they see responsible without any evidence.

Akay who said the sentences given are unjust, said they appealed and they expect reversal of decision.
