İZMİR- The 10 day hunger strike prisoners have begun with the demand of terminating the segregation on Öcalan is in its 9th day.

 

After Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and People's Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari Parliamentarian Leyla Güven have started a hunger strike with the demand of termination of the segregation of PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, many prisoners in various prisons started a hunger strike with the same demand.

 

The hunger strike continues in dozens of prisons in 8 cities in the Aegean Region.

 

According to the information given by the families of the prisoners, some of the prisons that the strike continues are as follows:

 

*In Kırıklar No1 and 2 Type F Prison, political prisoners are in rotating indefinite 10 day hunger strike.

 

* 3 of the 18 political prisoners in Şakran No. 3 Type F Prison are in hunger strike. According to the information given by the families of the prisoners, those 3 prisoners are determined to turn the hunger strike into non-rotating indefinite hunger strike if the demand is not met.

 

* The political prisoners in Şakran No.4 Type T Prison have started a rotating hunger strike in groups of 5 people.

 

* In İzmir Şakran Women's Closed Prison, one woman in all 4 wards have started a hunger strike.

 

* In Menemen Type T Closed Prisons tens of political prisoners including Yiğit Üste who was abducted, taken to a vacant site and tortured are in hunger strike. The exact number coulnd't be learned.

 

*  In Kepsut Closed Prison in Balıkesir İbrahim and Kamuran Poyraz brothers are in  hunger strike for 9 days now.

 

* The women political prisoners in Balıkesir Burhaniye Type T Prison will be in hunger strike one person rotating in 10 days.

 

* The hunger strikes continues rotating in groups in Muğla Type E and Type M Closed Prisons. 

 

* 4 political prisoners in Manisa Type T Closed Prison are in hunger strike.
