AMED - Abdulaziz Ok was released after 32 years of imprisonment.
Abdulaziz Ok, who was arrested after being detained in Amed (Diyarbakır) in 1993 and sentenced to life imprisonment by the State Security Court (DGM) for "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state", was released after 32 years of imprisonment.
After his arrest, Ok was held in prisons in Amed, Bartın, Kandıra, Bolu, Şirnêx (Şırnak) and Wan (Van) respectively. Ok was last transferred to Patnos Type L Closed Prison. Ok was supposed to be released in 2023. However, his release was postponed on the grounds that he refused to accept the "remorse" imposition and solitary confinement.
