The Newroz celebration organised by the Peoples' Democratic Congress (HDK) in Istanbul with the slogan "Democratic Society for Freedom" and attended by hundreds of thousands of people ended. Tens of thousands of people left the area with slogans and marched towards the exit with the slogan "Bijî Serok Apo(Long live Leader Apo)". The mass gathered at Yenikapı and Samatya exits and marched for a while with slogans. Young people at the Samatya exit marched singing Çerxa Şoreşê (Kurdish struggle song).
