The "Freedom for Peace" rally organised by the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) in Mersin continues with enthusiasm. Speaking at the rally, DBP Co-Chair Keskin Bayındır started his speech by greeting those who filled the area. 

 

Saying that thousands of people came together for a single purpose, Keskin Bayındır continued as follows: "We have come together for freedom and peace. Our resistance has reached an important threshold with great difficulties for 10 years. Today we are closer to a solution than ever. In the Middle East, many dictators are leaving, states are collapsing. Today, it is only the Kurdish people and their struggle that remains. 

 

Thanks to the power of our struggle, a new process has started in Turkey today. In Ankara, they say ‘we will solve the Kurdish issue’, but they have mercy on the Kenan Evren Coup. Every day, they are making coups against the Kurdish people. There are attacks all over Rojava and Kurdistan, but they say ‘we will make peace’. This is a big lie, this square will not fall for this lie and will not accept it. The Ba'ath regime collapsed in Rojava, the world is talking about a new Syria. All dictators say ‘Rojava is a threat to us’, but those who kill and murder women and massacre Alawites are not a threat to them. For 13 years in Rojava, the peoples have been living together freely without discrimination. This system is dangerous for them. Rojava is not a threat, it is hope for everyone. Hands off Rojava. The only future for Syria is the Rojava model, there is no other way. The Foreign Minister is travelling from country to country, saying how to eliminate the gains of the Kurdish people. We will not allow this issue to be exploited. We will always be on the streets and resist. We will spread our demand for freedom and peace everywhere. 

 

‘ÖCALAN'S SOLUTION STANCE IS IN THIS SQUARE’ 

 

Three meetings were held with Kurdish People's Leader Mr Ocalan. In these meetings, important messages were given to the Kurdish people and the peoples of the world. Mr Öcalan said, ‘I am ready for the solution of the Kurdish issue, I want the rights of the Kurdish people to be recognised and a constitutional solution to be reached and I am ready for this’. ‘I am ready to put an end to the war,’ he said. The burden for a democratic solution has fallen on all of us. Today we need to support this process in accordance with the message Mr Öcalan has given us. This square is support for this message. Today our voice from here must reach İmralı. Yesterday Amed, today Mersin. The world should take a good look at these two squares. Mr Öcalan's stance for peace and solution is in this square. They tried many ways but they did not reach their goal and they hit our resistance. We trust the Kurdish People's Leader Mr Abdullah Öcalan, not the governments.  Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan is preparing to announce a road map for a solution. He is making preparations for an honourable peace. Mr Öcalan is preparing for a solution, we ask the government what are you preparing for? The people are curious about your solution. Operations, arrests and massacres continue. Aziz Köylüoğlu was massacred, massacres continue in Tishreen and many other places. These massacres show the mentality of the government. While Mr Ocalan is preparing for a solution, the government is preparing for big operations. The Kurdish people and their friends will not give way to your war operations. We will organise the will for peace and freedom everywhere. This process is not just a process of watching, listening and sitting in place.
