RIHA - Peace Mothers, who organised a march on the border against the attakcs on North & East Syria, pointed out that war and conflicts are not a solution and reacted "Enogh is enough".

While the attacks of Turkey and its paramilitary groups against North & East Syria continue, the reactions of different groups, especially the Kurdish people, continue. Peace Mothers who participated in the march against the attacks led by Peoples's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party), Democratick Regions Party (DBP) and Free Women's Movement (Tevgera Jinên Azad-TJA) in Pirsûs (Suruç) district of Riha (Urfa) on Wednesday, 4 November spoke to our agency.

‘WAR IS NOT THE SOLUTION’

Stating that tens of thousands of people have lost their lives due to the war that has been going on for more than 40 years because the Kurdish issue has been left unresolved, one of the mothers Adalet Çay said: ‘People are being massacred, displaced and uprooted from their homes. We came to the border to stand against this. As  Peace Mothers, we could not sit in our homes. What has been solved by war? Peace must be achieved as soon as possible.’

‘ENOUGH IS ENOUGH’

Peace Mother Meyaser Korkmaz stated that the young population started to disappear due to the wars being waged. Stating that there is no peace in the same way, ‘The whole world has been brought to this state by a blood-sucking system. Let this cruelty be seen. We stand against this. We do not want bloodshed. We do not want war. They sit on the throne over the blood of the poor and the poor. Enough is enough. We will stand against these attacks no matter what they do,’ Meyaser Korkmaz said.

Stating that they came to the border to support the people of North & East Syria, Peace Mother Fatma Akbaş said: ‘Women, children and the elderly are being massacred. We will continue to stand by the people of Rojava.’

Stating that they participated in the march to voice their demands for peace from the border, Peace Mother Gülbaran Ülgün said: ‘We came here so that our young people would not die. Why does this war continue? We have no children left. What is the reason for this? Everyone should stand against it.’

Aynur Yılmaz, one of the mothers, stated that politicians are conducting war politics for their seats. Reminding MHP Chair Devlet Bahçeli's call for PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Aynur Yılmaz said: ‘If Bahçeli thought about people, he would have said “Come with dialogue”. He would have sat at the table with the interlocutors. Dialogues to end this war should be established as soon as possible.’

Makbule Yavuzer called for an end to war policies as soon as possible and said: ‘Everyone is dying in this war, Kurds, Turks, Arabs. Enough is enough."
