WAN - Speaking at the protest against the attacks North & East Syria and the trustees, "Rojava is Wan, Batman, Amed. Your drawn borders cannot separate us from our brothers and sisters and our lands," says DEM Party MP Zülküf Uçar.
A mass statement was made at the City Square in Wan regarding the attacks on North & East Syria and the appointment of trustees to municipalities. Wan (Van) Metropolitan Municipality Co-mayors Abdullah Zeydan and Neslihan Şedal as well as many people attended the statement. The slogans "Kurdish people protect Rojava", "Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo" and "Kurdistan will be the grave of fascism" were frequently chanted.
JUDICIARY DECISION POLITICAL
Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Wan MP Zülküf Uçar stated that the decision on the return of the rights of the Co-Mayor of Miks (Bahçesaray) Municipality Abdullah Zeydan after the appointment of a trustee to the municipality was overturned by the Supreme Court. "A new process of lawlessness has been put into effect again. A process in accordance with the law was carried out while our co-mayor's rights were restored," Uçar said.
Pointing out that Neslihan Şedal and Abdullah Zeydan are the will of the people living in Wan, Uçar said: "No one has the power to change this. No persecution can force us to take a step back at this point. The decision of the Supreme Court is a decision made in line with political instructions. When it comes to Kurdish people, Kurdish co-mayors of municipalities, persecution and hostility show themselves. The Kurdish people have been struggling against your dirty politics for a century."
REACTION TO THE ATTACKS
Reacting to the attacks on North & East Syria, Uçar said: "Rojava is Wan, Batman, Amed (Diyarbakır), Bahçesaray, Halfeti. A border drawn a century ago cannot separate us from our brothers and sisters and our lands. We know very well the gangs fighting today, they are a continuation of ISIS. These gangs are committing crimes by uniting under the name of HTS and the National Syrian Army. Of course, the people of Wan and Amed will not remain silent in the attacks against the people of Rojava. We call out to the government; will you stand by these gangsters and massacres? Or will you stand by the people you call 'our brothers' and extend your hand to? The Kurdish people have always struggled for an equal and free life everywhere in Kurdistan. It has always resisted and will always resist against the colonialist mind."
'IMRALI HAS BEEN RESISTING FOR 26 YEARS'
Uçar continued as follows: "The aim (of the attacks) is of course to include Mr Abdullah Öcalan, who has put up a great resistance in İmralı, in the negotiations under unequal conditions. All Kurdish people and friends are aware of this. Just as there has been a great resistance in İmralı for 26 years, just as the Kurdish people have not given up resistance against this colonialist mind for a century, they will not give up today."
