NEWS CENTER - Reacting to the attacks on North & East Syria, Peace Mothers Assembly members said: “They will be defeated by the philosophy of ‘jin, jiyan, azadî’ again, just like before.”

Immediately after the Syrian city of Aleppo, the attacks on North & East Syrian cities have also increased. Tens of thousands of people were forced to migrate in the Shahba region due to the attacks by Turkey and affiliated paramilitary groups. The countryside of Minbiç is also under attack. Members of the Peace Mothers' Assembly in Amed (Diyarbakır) and Êlih (Batman) reacted to the attacks.

'WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN ROJAVA?'

Peace Mother Meryem Turan said that the main target of the attacks is Kurdish gains and continued as follows: “Children, civilians and women should not be killed anymore. We condemn this dirty war. We want peace, unity, freedom and brotherhood. Our children should not die anymore. Enough is enough. Stop these dirty games.”

“We are being killed with NATO weapons,” said Peace Mother Mürvet Demir and added: ‘We have been saying ’peace' for years. They extend the right hand for peace, they strike with the left hand. With tanks, artillery and airplanes, they are going over our children. They want to end the Kurds. Kurds do not end with killing. They are waging this dirty war in vain. Stop this dirty war and inhumane practices. What are they doing in Rojava?”

'MUST UNITE AGAINST THE WAR'

Kamile Şimşek, a Peace Mother living in Êlih, described the events in Syria as “a game of imperialist states”. “Without the permission of states and plans, Aleppo would not have been occupied in two hours. We don't want this war. Turkey says 'it is not us' but it should not try to fool anyone. They are all gangs affiliated to it. Our relatives call us by phone and tell us that they are facing death. All peoples should unite against this war all over the world. Kurdish people should take to the streets wherever they are and show their reaction,” she said.

'THEY WILL BE DEFEATED BY JIN, JIYAN, AZADI'

Peace Mother Nuran Seçkin said that ISIS continues its attacks under a different name. Nuran Seçkin continued: “These are the beheaders and rapists of ISIS. This war is a war to revive ISIS. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could not last even an hour; he handed over hundreds of thousands of women, children and elderly people to the gangs. They say they are fighting for Islam. They should not try to deceive people under the name of Islam. This is not Islam, this is not beheading and rape. These are enemies of Islam. Those resisting there are resisting for the gains of the Kurdish people. There is a life developing there under the leadership of women. There is intolerance to this life. Their target is women's gains. Their biggest war is against women. However, as before, they will be defeated again by the philosophy of 'Jin, jiyan, azadî'.”

Peace Mother Maşallah Kaya said that Kurdish demands for peace are responded with war. Emphasizing that Kurds should act together against the attacks, Maşallah Kaya called for sensitivity from the international community.

'THEY WILL LOSE AGAIN'

Pointing out that a women's liberationist and ecological paradigm is coming to life in North & East Syria, Peace Mother Şükran Dal said that this paradigm is the target of the attacks. Reminding the attacks on North & East Syria in 2014, Şükran Dal continued as follows: “Just as they lost in 2014, they will lose again. HTS and ISIS have the same mentality. They only changed the name. We appeal to the rights of the world; the world was silent about ISIS before. It became a scourge for all of them. They massacred people in every country. Now they should not remain silent, they should stand against this mentality. The resistance led by women in 2014 led the world. Now this leadership will win.”
