COLEMÊRG - Young people in Gever district of Colemêrg organized a protest on the streets throughout the night against the appointment of trustees to the municipalities.
In Gever (Yüksekova) district of Colemêrg (Hakkari), young people protested on the streets throughout the night against the appointment of trustees to Mêrdin (Mardin) Metropolitan, Êlih (Batman) and Riha (Urfa)/Xelfetî (Halfeti) municipalities. The youth took to the streets in Orman, Kışla and Esentepe neighborhoods and chanted “Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)”, “Bê serok jiyan nabe (Wİthout Leader there is no life)”, “Bijî berxwedana zindana (Long live resistance of dungeons)” and “Kurdistan will be the grave of fascism”.
The police attacked the youth who set up barricades and lit fires in the neighborhoods. The youth responded to the police attack with stones and fireworks. The incidents in the neighborhoods continued until late hours.
