People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Colemêrg (Hakkari) Municipality Co-Mayor Mehmet Sıddık Akış was suspended from duty after being detained yesterday and a trustee was appointed in his place. Akış, who was detained in Wan, was brought to Colemêrg yesterday. After a 24-hour ban on seeing lawyers, he met with his lawyers. Akış greeted the resistance in the city. Stating that he is in good spirits during the consultation with his lawyer, Akış described what happened as a "coup attempt against democracy". Akış sent greetings to all segments of society who have been against the usurpation of will since the time he was detained.
