AMED - DEM Party Youth Assembly hung a banner "Arrests cannot intimidate us" on the Amed Walls after two of their friends were arrested for hanging posters.
During house raids in Amed yesterday, Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Youth Council members Muhammed Sönmez and Berdan Çelik were detained on the grounds that they were sticking stickers on the walls. Both of them, who were referred to the court for arrest on the charge of "making propaganda for a terrorist organization", is arrested for the same reason.
REACTION TO ARRESTS
Protesting the arrests, DEM Party Amed Youth Council members hung a banner on the Walls. Young people hung the banner "Arrests can not intimidate us" and said, "Our friends Muhammed Sönmez and Berdan Çelik were arrested unlawfully. There is no part of society left that the government has not attacked due to the crisis it is in. Our response to the arrests will be more organization and more struggle.”
