NEWS CENTER - Nobel Peace Prize-winning Iranian activist Nergis Muhammedi was sentenced to 15 months in prison by the regime court.

 
Nobel Peace Prize-winning Iranian activist Nargis Mohammadi was sentenced to 15 months in prison in a case where she was tried for allegedly making "propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran". It was also stated that in addition to the prison sentence for Nergis Muhammedi, the court imposed a two-year travel ban, a two-year ban on joining socio-political groups and a two-year ban on using a smartphone.
 
SHE REJECTED THE COURT
 
Nergis Muhammedi, who described the revolutionary court where the case was heard as a "slaughterhouse", stated that this court was the court that decided on the execution of many young Iranians. Nergis Muhammedi did not appear in court, saying: "I will not step foot in this slaughterhouse. I refuse to give the slightest credibility or authority to the judges under the command of the secret services and the courts that organize fake cases."
 
SHE WAS ARRESTED 13 TIMES, 31 YEARS IN PRISON
 
Nergis Muhammedi, who was arrested 13 times, sentenced to a total of 31 years in prison and 154 flogging 5 times, and has been imprisoned again since 2021, became one of the prominent faces of the "Jin, Jîyan, Azadî (Women, Life, Freedom”" uprising in Iran and Rojhilat Kurdistan.
