RIHA -The prisoners drew attention to the violations of their rights in Urfa No. 1 Type T Closed Prison and stated that their petitions were destroyed and not processed.

Political prisoners in Urfa No. 1 Type T Closed Prison sent a letter to the Mesopotamia Agency (MA) regarding the violations of their rights. Pointing out that violations of rights have increased in recent days, the prisoners stated that the petitions they submitted regarding the violations of their rights were destroyed and not submitted to the necessary authorities. The prisoners listed their rights violations as follows:

“* Our request for a room change is rejected in order to move to the same room as our friends and relatives in the same 'criminal group'.

* They do not take our petitions out of prison. It's being destroyed.

* The military imposes arbitrary practice in hospital referrals. When we do not accept, they do not take us to the hospital and they open an investigation.

* Shaving supplies are not supplied to us. We're not barred.

* The materials sold to us from the canteen are confiscated by saying that they are forbidden.

* Due to the heat, vehicles such as air conditioners are not sold in the canteen.

* They make excuses for our friends whose sentences are over and extend their sentences. They postponed their release.

* The clothes brought by our families during the visit or the clothes sent by courier are not given to us by the administration.

* These practices are implemented by the prosecutor of this prison. When we complain about him, he does not send our petitions or letters.”

The prisoners called on the sensitive democratic mass organizations, especially the legal organizations, to take action against the violations of their rights and to show solidarity with the prisoners.
