ANKARA - Pointing out that it is not possible for Turkey to achieve a real democracy before the isolation of İmralı ends, HDP Group MP Chairperson Meral Danış Beştaş said: "The solution is in island."

 

The demonstration, which was initiated by Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) MPs to allow PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan to meet with his lawyers and to end the aggravated isolation as soon as possible, continued on its 21st day. HDP Group MP Chairperson Meral Danış Beştaş and MPs Hişyar Özsoy, Mahmut Toğrul, Dilan Dirayet Taşdemir, Ömer Öcalan, Necdet İpekyüz, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Hüseyin Kaçmaz, Zeynel Özen, Kemal Peköz made a statement in the garden of the Parliament with the banners "The law should be implemented in İmralı".

Stating that it is necessary to go to the island for war, Beştaş said: “The solution is at island. As everyone knows, during the meeting and dialogue with Mr. Öcalan in İmralı, the peaceful solution of the Kurdish Question in Turkey can be discussed and the culture of democracy rises.
