ESKİŞEHİR - HDP Eskişehir Provincial Co-Chair Şükriye Ercan, who was detained for her speech at Newroz, was asked, "What is your relationship and contact with people named Mazlum Doğan, Deniz Gezmiş, Mahir Çayan?" 

 

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Eskişehir Provincial Co-Chair Şükriye Ercan was summoned to a deposition by the Eskişehir Security Branch yesterday due to a protest for the raises held on February 12 at the call of Eskişehir Labor and Democracy Forces. While Ercan' statement was being taken at the Eskişehir Security Directorate, she was detained by the Eskişehir Anti-Terrorism (TEM) Branch police.

 

Ercan, who was taken to TEM, was deposed on the charge of "propagandizing for a terrorist organization" on the grounds of her Newroz speech on March 20.

 

Ercan was asked the following questions about Deniz Gezmiş, Mazlum Doğan, İbrahim Kaypakkaya and Mahir Çayan, whom she mentioned in her Newroz speech; "What is your relationship and contact with the people named Mazlum Doğan, Deniz Gezmiş, Mahir Çayan, İbrahim Kaypakkaya? Is there anyone in your family or relatives who has been arrested for operating within the PKK/KCK or has been detained for this crime?"
