Message of resistance from Newroz celebrations

NEWS CENTER - A message of resistance against the oppression of the government has been given in the Newroz Celebrations held in Serhad and Botan.
 
Newroz celebrations were held today in 20 different cities with the slogan “Dem dema serkeftinê ye” (Now is the time to win). Newroz fires have been lit in every city in the face of the oppression people of Turkey and Kurdistan faces in the last seven years. The main message of the celebrations have been the demand for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
 
ŞIRNAK: NO STEPS BACKWARDS
 
In Şırnak which was blown to smithereens by the soldiers and police during the self-government resistance, the most meaningful celebration was held. It is the 30th anniversary of the massacre that took place in the Newroz celebrations in 1992. People of the city flocked to the celebration area with the spirit of 92. People of Şırnak became one around the Newroz fire they lit and said: No steps backwards!
 
EXPRESSION OF A COMMON LIFE: IĞDIR AND DERSİM
 
Being the most diverse cities of Kurdistan, the message of the  Newroz celebrations in Dersim and Iğdır have been the expression of a demand for a common life. The joy of Newroz the women started with their colourful dresses, grew with the Newroz fire.
 
In the celebrations held at the Seyid Rıza Square, the Alevi identity of the city was embraced and a demand for a common life was emphasized.
 
WITH THE SPIRIT OF MODERN DAY KAWA, IN EVERY CITY
 
The fact that Arife Doğan, sister of Mazlum Doğan, known as 'Modern Day Kawa' who set himself on fire in 1982, lit the fire of Newroz in Karakoçan reveals the historical legacy of Newroz. It was the same hand that lit the Newroz fire all around Turkey. 
 
FIRST NEWROZ FIRE IN GABAR AFTER 8 YEARS
 
The Newroz celebration in Güçlükonak after 8 years has been very important for the region. The fire lit at the slopes of the glorious Mount Gabar fascinated everyone.
 
NEWROZ FIRE IN PATNOS UNDER SNOW
 
Even though every city is cold at the moment, the Newroz celebrations in Patnos was different. The roads to villages were blocked by snow. As it was believed that people might not attend the celebrations, people of Patnos flocked to the celebration area. The people lit the Newroz fire in the area cleaned by the construction machines and started dancing the Halay.
 
WOMEN'S MESSAGE FROM ULUDERE 
 
One of the most important message of Newroz 2022, was the women's message from Uludere emphasizing 'Free women'.The message was emphasized in the face of the special war tactics used by the Turkish state. The women in Uludere said: "Happy Newroz to all, in the person of the ideology of free women, free society."
 
THE THIRD PATH
 
The third path policy came forward in Mersin which came to the fore with the Kurds forced into migration in the 90's.  All the subjects of the Third Way, which will determine the destiny of Turkey in the new era, met at Newroz, and the understanding of common struggle against all problems in labor, identity, belief, ecology, and women showed how a democratic Turkey would be established.
 
SURUÇ NEWROZ DEDICATED TO EMİNE ŞENYAŞAR
 
One of the places where people flocked to the celebrations was the Suruç district of Urfa. At the celebration where the demand for the freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan came to the fore, Peace Mothers lit the Newroz fire. The Newroz Celebration in Suruç was dedicated to Emine Şenyaşar whose husband and two sons were murdered by the relatives and bodyguards of AKP MP İbrahim Halil Yıldız. Emine Şenyaşar has been staging a sit-in demanding justice for 376 days.
 
THE NEWROZ CELEBRATION IN GEBZE HAS BECOME A DECLERATION OF WILL
 
The Newroz celebrations held in Gebze has turned into a decleration of will. People expressed their reactions to the fact that the HDP MPs stripped of their statuses as MPs. The crowd listened to Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu carefully while he was speaking about how his status as an MP was stripped unlawfully. 
 
90'S SPIRIT IN KIZILTEPE AND TEKMAN
 
The heavy rainfall started early in the morning did not stop the people from flocking to the celebration area. Ahmet Türk called for national unity while the crowd chanted “Bijî Serok Apo”. The police attacked the youth while they were marching in the streets of the city demanding freedom for PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan, which the young men and women responded by throwing stones at the armoured vehicles, carrying the spirit of 90's to our day.
 
The fact that the Newroz fire was lit with old tyres reminded the people of the 90's.
 
NO OBSTACLES IN FRONT OF VICTORY
 
The Newroz celebrations in Serhad and Botan showed that the state oppression has failed. It showed, as the slogan of the Newroz 2022, that there are no obstacles in front of the victory.
