NEWS CENTER - Secretary of the International Confederation of Trade Unions, Clare Baker, explained that the entire people must go through a unified struggle for the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan and said, "We must raise our voice more for the physical freedom of Mr. Ocalan."

Secretary of the International Federation of Trade Unions, the largest trade union in Britain, and the secretary of the "Liberty for Ocalan" campaign, Clare Baker, assessed the severe isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan and the international struggle against isolation.

With vast participation of dozens of Britain Unions in supporting of " Liberty for Ocalan" campaign which began in 2016, saying" "Our campaign continues with strong participation, the University and College Union (UCU), the British Federation of Trade Unions (TUC) and 16 other trade unions have joined it actively. We have made it clear that the framework of our campaign must reach millions of people and guarantee Mr. Abdullah Ocalan's freedom, we have carried out a variety of events in this context. Many of the trade unions joining the campaign have said that Mr. Ocalan's philosophy has influenced them and that they support his freedom, and we will continue our campaign to achieve leader Ocalan's freedom. "

Noting that the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan its purpose is to prevent the  spread of his ideas, Claire Baker stated that "the main reason for Mr. Ocalan's arrest is the fear of the Turkish state of his ideas, his ideas affect many parties, because they are democracy, women's freedom and humanity. The right thing is that the Turkish state must defend these ideas without fear. There's freedom of thought and struggle, and that's what the Turkish government is trying to suppress it."

Clare Baker also commented on the isolation of Imrali and said that "the isolation imposed on Mr. Ocalan is against the laws of the Turkish state and, at the same time, against international laws and rights, which is torture of Mr. Ocalan. This isolation is an isolation imposed on Kurds, workers, women, journalists and the opposition in Turkey."

Claire Baker explained that the CPT Committee had prepared numerous reports on isolation, but had remained on paper, and continued that "the CPT Committee must be pressured to carry out its tasks, follow up on what is written in its reports, and inform public opinion of the isolation. Nor has the European Court of Human Rights taken an active stand against Mr. Ocalan, who is facing a major attack on human rights by the Turkish State.

She noted that no sanctions had been imposed on the Turkish state for imposing isolation on leader Abdullah Ocalan and said "We are working with the British Labour Party parliamentarians and European parliaments as well; Let them know what's happening. We provide information on Turkey's crimes against humanity within and outside its borders. "
She explained that Erdogan was trying to show that all parties opposed to him were terrorists and continued "European States should not become a tool in Erdogan's scheme. Who wants to eliminate the Kurdish people. Britain and other European countries ignore Turkey's inhumane practices and Erdogan's threats to migrants because of its economic interests.
