DİYARBAKIR - While the military operation launched on January 9 in the rural areas of Diyarbakır, Lice continues, 8 people detained during the raids on villages were arrested.

 

In the clash that started in the countryside of Çağdaş (Cinezur), Dibek (Derxust), Arıklı (Hiseynik) and Bağlan (Mişref) districts in Lice on January 9, 1 soldier lost his life and 3 soldiers were injured.

 

8 PEOPLE ARRESTED

 

While the enterance to the rural neighborhoods were closed by the soldiers after the clashes, villagers were detained by the soldiers during raids on their homes in different dates. While Mehmet Şah Bozkuş living in the Bağlan Neighborhood was arrested with the accusation of 'being a member of a terrorist organization', Sıddık Özkan (63) Ferzende Özkan, Ömer Yıldırım and 4 more people whose names could not be obtained were also arrested. The seven people who were referred to court as a result of an anonymous witness, were arrested on the charge of 'being a member of an illegal organization'.

Local sources reported that the military operation launched at the rural areas of the neighborhoods where the clashes took place continues, and the military units were patrolling in the region mostly with civilian vehicles.
