ADANA - Reporting that at least 30 prisoners caught coronavirus in Karabük Type T Closed Prison in the last 2 months, political prisoner Ahmet Bayrna said the prison administration did not take any measures regarding the pandemic.

 

Ahmet Bayna being held in Karabük Type T Closed Prison shared the violations of rights in prison with his family during his weekly phone call. Bayna said at least 30 prisoners including himself tested positive for coronavirus since December 2020.

 

Underlining that the prison administration did not take any measures regarding the pandemic, said he also caught the virus and wasn't treated. Bayna said: "The virus has spread to the prison. The prison administration does not abide by the rules of social distance and hygiene. Cleaning materials are not given to the prisoners. This is far from a healthy environment."
