KARS- Protesting the appointment of trustee to the Kars Municipality, member of parliament, Habib Eksik said: "The people will make them pay a heavy price for it", while MP Dersim Dağ said: "The wind will eventually turn. There will come a day when you face the true justice."

 

Kars Municipality Co-chair Ayhan Bilgen, who was arrested within the scope of the "Kobanê investigation" conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was dismissed on the order of the Ministry of Interior. Kars Governor Türker Öksüz has been appointed as a trustee to replace Bilgen. HDP Provincial Organization wanted to make a statement in front of the city hall in order to protest the situation and was blocked by the police.

 

EKSİK: THE PEOPLE WILL HOLD YOU TO ACCOUNT 

 

Speaking after the attempt to make a press statement, HDP MP Habib Eksik said: "The people of Kars will protect their mayors. No one can say they can freely batter the members of parliament, arrest mayors and nothing would happen to them. The people will make them pay a heavy price for that. This persecution done here today have gone into the black book of the history. If those who arrested 17 of our friends unlawfully in Ankara thinks that they can make the HDP, the Kurdish people, the democracy power submit to this persecution, they are very wrong. We have been struggling for years and never kneeled, and it will never happen. Our mayors have not steal, or lied or betrayed their people. Their chins are up. They have served the people and they protected the honour of the people."

 

DAĞ: YOU WILL REGRET THIS

 

Speaking after Eksik, MP Dağ said: "We are calling out to those who receive instructions from the Palace; you will regret it. This wind will turn. There will come a day when you face the real justice. Give up before it's too late or you'll regret it. The people that made the trustees regret on March 31, will make you regret too one more time. Those who arrested our friends today, those who detain our council members should know this: These people have never submitted to persecution and will not submit to your trustees. You can only come here as a trustee. The will of the people is Ayhan Bilgen and Şevin Alaca. The people of Kars is proud of their mayors!"
