MARDİN – İsmail Taş, who worked as a veterinarian in the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality under the administration of the trustee, was banned from civil service because of the Kurdish song he shared six years ago on his social media account.

 

The antidemocratic practices implemented in HDP's Mardin Metropolitan Municipality after the appointment of trustee continues. İsmail Taş, a member of All Municipal and Local Administration Services Workers Union (Tüm-Bel-Sen) affiliated to the Confederation of Public Workers Unions (KESK), was banned from civil service by the decision of the High Disciplinary Board formed by the trustee. Taş, who worked as a veterinarian in the municipality, was banned from civil service for sharing a song, Rewiyen Xakurke by Evin û Jinda in his social media account six years ago. The decision of deferment of the announcement of the verdict (HAGB) was given to Taş, in the previous lawsuit filed against him for his social media activity.

 

The decision of Taş's dismissal from the civil service was made by the Governor of Mardin and the new trustee of the Metropolitan Municipality, Mahmut Demirtaş, General Secretary Murat Süzen, Head of Reconstruction and Urbanization Department Hidayet Oğuz, Head of Financial Services Department İbrahim Erdoğan, Head of Science Department Cebrail Aslan and First Legal Adviser Abdulbaki Sağlam.

 

While only the union representative voted against the decision, the following statements were included: “As it is understood that the mentioned person committed the crime of making propaganda for terrorist organizations, as a result of the decision of the Mardin 4th Heavy Penal Court,  it was decided by majority of votes to accept the penalty of dismissing from the civil service against the act of 'being in action unity with the terrorist organizations, aiding and abetting these organizations, using public resources to support these organizations"
