İSTANBUL – Attorney Ezgi Önalan, who was battered and detained in the Rıhtım Police Station located in Kadıköy, while trying to see her clients taken into custody during a police intervention against the commemoration of Suruç Massacre, told that they will file a criminal complaint for the battery.

 

4 lawyers who were detained by the police trying to see their clients under custody, were released late last night. One of the lawyers, Ezgi Önalan, told what happened.

 

'WE WERE BEATEN AND DETAINED BY THE POLICE'

 

Lawyer Ezgi Önalan who stated that they went to the police station to see their client with Lawyer Gökhan Soysal, and they were beaten and taken into custody by the police at the station, said two more lawyers were also beaten and taken into custody with them. Stating that they were not able to see their clients because they were held in another room, said they were released late last night. Önalan said: "I couldn't see my clients. But our colleagues who were able to see them told that they were battered too." Stating that they have bruises and scars on their bodies, Önalan told that they will file a criminal complaint. Önalan called for solidarity in a time where attacks againts defense intensified.
