İmralı Delegation issues statement on meeting with Kurtulmuş

ANKARA - The DEM Party İmralı Delegation stated on the meeting with Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, "During our meeting, we expressed our views, expectations, and reasons regarding the necessity of adopting the framework law before the Grand National Assembly of Turkey adjourns."

Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party İmralı Delegation members Pervin Buldan and Mithat Sancar announced that they had met with Numan Kurtulmuş, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. In a written statement regarding the meeting, the delegation said they discussed developments concerning legal steps within the framework of the Peace and Democratic Society Process.
 
The statement continued:
 
“The main agenda of the meeting was the current stage of the framework law, which is being closely followed by the public. During our meeting, we expressed our views, expectations, and reasons regarding the necessity of adopting the framework law—which is of great importance for the process—before the Grand National Assembly of Turkey adjourns.
 
The Speaker of Parliament stated that he shares the same view that the framework law should be passed before the Assembly adjourns and that he will continue his efforts on this matter to the fullest extent.
 
We would like to once again underline the importance of the shared understanding that concrete steps regarding the adoption of the framework law must be taken swiftly, as well as the confirmation of the role that the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will play in this regard.”
