ŞIRNEX - Nadire Yaman, the daughter of 80-year-old ill prisoner Omer Yaman, called out to the authorities for the release of her father because she feared for his life in prison conditions due to his health problems.
80-year-old Omer Yaman, who is among the ill prisoners in prison. Despite his health problems, he is not released. Yaman was sentenced to life imprisonment on the charge of "disrupting the unity and integrity of the state" after he was detained in the Qileban (Uludere) district of Şirnex in 1998. Yaman has been to many prisons throughout his imrisonment. Now he is currently imprison in Tokat T-Type Closed Prison.
Yaman has many diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and hernia and has had three surgeries so far due to a hernia in his waist. He is one of the prisoners waiting to be released.
'CANNOT LIVE IN PRISON CONDITIONS'
Yaman's daughter, Nadire Yaman, said that her father's illnesses increased after his arrest. Pointing out that his father was sent to many prisons due to his illness, Yaman said: "My father has been in prison for 25 years. During this 25-year period, my father stayed in all prisons. My father is old and cannot live under prison conditions."
Stating that they cannot go to the prison visits many times because it is far away, Yaman said: "I have the opportunity to go to the prison visits once or twice a year. Because he is constantly taken to another prison. My only demand is that my father and the ill prisoners like him be released. Because he is both older and ill. He cannot eat every food because of his condition. The food he eats has to be special."
Yaman continued as follows: "He cannot meet his needs because he is getting older and sick. An 80-year-old person cannot stay in prison anyway. My only request is that he be released as soon as possible. We cannot go to his meeting every time. We do not know what his health condition is, at what stage he is. "He needs to be released first and he needs to have access to his health rights."
