During Amed Newroz celebrations, 204 people, including 38 children, were detained on the grounds of the clothes they were wearing and yellow, red and green bandages. While the detainees were taken to Diyarbakır Police Department, the children were taken to the Juvenile Branch. 204 people, who were prosecuted on charges of "making propaganda for a terrorist organization" and "violating the law no. 2911 on meetings and demonstrations", were released after their statements at the police station.
The young people who were detained during the home raids in Amed on March 19 were released late last night. It was learned that the investigation was initiated by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office upon a tip-off. 26 people detained within the scope of the investigation were released after giving statements to the police.
