It was announced that at least 25 people died and 8 people were injured as a result of a rockslide caused by heavy snowfall in the northeast of Afghanistan.
Nuristan Governor Qari Habibullah Sabir stated that the landslide occurred at night on Sunday in the Tatin Dara region of Norgaram district, following heavy rain and snowfall, and that there were women and children among those who lost their lives.
At least 20 houses were destroyed or severely damaged as a result of the landslide.
Afghanistan National Disaster Agency Spokesperson Mullah Janan Saeq said that the death toll may increase.
