Justice Watch in 6 cities: Demand for freedom for Abdullah Ocalan

NEWS CENTER - Activists who were at the Justice Watch for the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan said: "We want the freedom of our leader."
 
The Justice Watch, which was launched in many cities to demand the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan, who is held in isolation in Imralı Type F High Security Prison, and the solution of the Kurdish issue, continues.
 
WAN
 
The Justice Watch, which was initiated in Wan led by the prisoners' relatives and the Association for Assistance with the Families of Detainees and Convicts (TUHAY-DER), continued on its 76th day. Visits to the ongoing watch at the Democratic Regions Party (DBP) Provincial Organization building continued today. Those who participated in the watch emphasized that the struggle will continue until the demands are met.
 
During the protest, which included visits throughout the day, the slogan "Bijî berxwedana zindanan (Long live resistance of dungeons)" was frequently chanted.
 
AMED
 
The Justice Watch, initiated in Amed led by the Prisoner Families Assistance Association (TUAY-DER), has entered its 76th day at the Rêzan (Bağlar) district building of the People's Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). Those who visited the watch supported the families on watch by wearing aprons with "Isolation is a crime against humanity" written in Kurdish and Turkish. In the watch, attention was drawn to the importance of the "Great Freedom March" and the campaign, and a call was made to all people, especially the people of Amed, to join the struggle.
 
The slogans of "Bijî berxwedana zindanan", "Be Serok jiyan nabe (No life without the Leader)" and "Jin, jiyan, azadî (Women, Life, Freedom)" were frequently chanted at the action, and the enthusiasm continued with applause and shouts.
 
ÊLIH
 
The Justice Watch, which was initiated in Êlih led by the Prisoner Families Assistance Association (TUAY-DER), continued on the 18th day at the DBP provincial building. Representatives of political parties and non-governmental organizations in the city made support visits during the day.
 
During the visits, attention was drawn to the hunger strikes of prisoners in prisons and a call was made to expand the struggle.
 
MÊRDÎN
 
In Mêrdîn, the protest carried out by Mothers for Peace and prisoners' relatives continued at the DBP provincial building. A message of struggle was given at the action visited by Stevrê (Savur) DEM Party District Organization. Speaking at the watch, Mother for Peace Saime Onder stated that they started the action for the physical freedom of PKK Leader Abdullah Ocalan and said: “Our children are on hunger strike in dungeons. We want the freedom of our leader, our children and our people. We will continue our struggle until freedom comes. Bijî berxwedana zindanan.”
 
ADANA
 
The Justice Watch, which was initiated in Adana led by the Akdeniz Adana Assistance Association with Detainees and Convict Families (AATUHAY-DER), continued in the association building. Mothers for Peace and DEM Party executives attended the watch. Referring to the purpose of the action, the participants emphasized that the struggle will continue until Abdullah Ocalan's physical freedom is achieved.
 
The watch, where the slogans "Bê Serok jiyan nabe" and "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" were frequently chanted, continued with the kilams sing by the mothers.
 
ISTANBUL
 
The Justice Watch, which was initiated in Istanbul led by the Marmara Assistance and Solidarity Association with Detainee and Convict Families (MATUHAY-DER), continued on its 69th day at the Küçükçekmece District Organization building of the Rights Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party). Banners in Kurdish and Turkish, "Let's end the isolation for the construction of a free life, let's be a voice to the prisons" and "Let's end the isolation for justice, let's be a voice to the prisons for social peace" were hung in the hall where the watch was taking place. During the protest, the relatives of the prisoners wore white aprons with the words "Isolation is a crime against humanity" written in Kurdish and Turkish, and slogans such as "Bijî berxwedana zindanan" and "Bijî Serok Apo (Long live Leader Apo)" were frequently chanted.
 
The action was visited by DEM Party Eyüp District Co-chair Nedim Aydın, Bitlis Confederation of Non-Governmental Organizations (BITLISKON) and Diyarbakırliler Association executives, as well as many citizens. Speaking at the action, DEM Party Eyüp District Co-chair Nedim Aydın said: “The actions have become known all over the world. All oppressed peoples take the struggle of the Kurds as an example. The way our movement works sets an example to the world. Kurds are now talked about all over the World.”
 
Speaking later, MATUHAY-DER Co-Chair Mehmet Şafi Erol said: “As Kurds, we are a nation and we have our language, culture and geography. We want to live with our identity. For this reason, we do not accept this absolute isolation on the leader of the Kurds Mr. Ocalan. If there is to be a solution, it must be with Mr. Ocalan."
