ANKARA - The hearing of the Kobané Case in which the politicians on trial and their lawyers refused to attend ended in 5 minutes. The courtroom was filled with soldiers and police officers.
The fifth session of the seventh hearing of the Kobané Case in which 108 politicians are on trial including former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Co- chairs Selahattin Demirtaş and Figen Yüksekdağ are on trial was held at Sincan Prison Campus.
THE EMPTY COURTROOM WAS FILLED WITH SOLDIERS
Lawyers and politicians did not attend the hearing of the case, which was heard by the Ankara 22nd High Criminal Court, as their demands for reorganization of the hearing periods in accordance with a fair trial were not accepted. A large number of police and gendarmerie were placed in the courtroom.
The hearing, which continued without a decision regarding the objection made by the lawyers to the Ankara 23rd High Criminal Court, lasted for 5 minutes.
The presiding judge rejected the requests of the lawyers of the defendant politicians and postponed the hearing until tomorrow.
