NEWS CENTER - At least 58 people were detained in police raids in different Kurdish cities.
At least 58 people were detained during house raids in Mardin, Şırnak, Kars and Van. As part of the investigation carried out by the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous police raids were carried out on many houses in Kızıltepe and Mazıdağı districts early this morning. Many people were detained, including Mele Fahri Doğan, Peace Mother Hevlet Öncü, Mesopotamia Culture and Art Association artist Kudret Uçuk, Abdullah Ayav, teacher Hamit Güngör and HDP Mazıdağı Municipality Council member Fadıl Karçi.
The houses were stormed and the doors of the houses were busted open. Those detained are expected to be taken to Mardin Provincial Security Directorate.
ŞIRNAK
45 people were detained in Şırnak early this morning. Those detained are taken to Cizre District Security Directorate.
KARS
3 people were detained during house raids early this morning. Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) former Provincial Co-Chairs Ayhan Gezici and Onur Mengüloğlu, Osman Ayağ were detained. It was stated that those detained were taken to the Kars Police Department.
VAN
5 people detained during house raids in Van 5 days ago are still held at the police station. The names of the detainees are as follows: Beşir Aksu, Tefik Peyan, Hasan Tekbulak and Bilal Babat.
