NEWS CENTER - Stating that refugees on the Poland-Belarus border left their country as a result of the policies of the KDP, PUK Deputy Zîkrî Zêbarî said, adding, "People who are not members of the KDP do not have equal citizenship rights."

The world has been watching the refugee drama on the Poland- Belarus border for days. The majority of the refugees who are stuck at the border while trying to cross over to Europe consist of people who migrated from the Federated Kurdistan Region. Citizens of the Federated Kurdistan Region, who want to move to Europe due to the policies of the regional government which is known for the unemployment, corruption, unfair income distribution, repression, detention and arrests, have been waiting for days in the freezing cold weather, starving and on the brink of death. At least 10 refugees have died on the Poland- Belarus border so far. Bild newspaper published in Germany wrote that the refugees were transported there by Turkish Airlines (THY) special flights. Making a statement on the subject, the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) said that Turkey's aim is to drive the Kurdish people off their lands and change the demographics of Kurdistan.

Zîkrî Zêbarî, Member of the Federal Kurdistan Regional Government Parliament of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (YNK), evaluated the current tragedy and the reasons that forced people to migrate.

THOSE WHO ARE NOT MEMBERS OF THE KDP CONSIDERED TO BE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS

Zêbarî stated Kurdistan regional Government is responsible for the Kurdish youth's becoming refugees at other country's borders. Stating that the KDP forces attacked the demands of citizens especially in Behdinan, Zêbarî emphasized that many people, including journalists, teachers and civil servants, were arrested, and that this approach to those who fight for rights and law is incompatible with human rights. Zêbarî said, “People who are not members of the KDP are not seen equal citizens and their rights are violated. People who are not officially members of the KDP are treated as second-class citizens.”

YOUTH IS HOPELESS

Expressing that there is great injustice and lawlessness in the Federated Kurdistan Region, Zêbarî said, “Our youth are no longer hopeful about the future. People have no faith in the government. Our citizens are trying to find a solution against the injustice and unlawfulness experienced here by seeking refuge in other countries. They become refugees because they have no faith.". Stating that they closely follow the what's happening at the border, Zêbarî told that they submitted a motion to the Kurdistan parliament to learn about the situation of the citizens held at the border.
