AĞRI - Journalist Abdullah Kaya, who stood trial at the Ağrı 2nd High Criminal Court, said that the district gendarmerie command did not return his technical equipment despite the court decision.
The 16th hearing of the lawsuit filed against Dicle News Agency (DİHA) reporter Abdullah Kaya, which was closed with a Statutory Decree (KHK) after the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016, for "helping a terrorist organization" for following the "Peace and Nature Festival" held on 3 September 2014 on Mount Ararat, was held at the Ağrı 2nd High Criminal Court.
'JOURNALISM IS ON TRIAL'
Repeating his previous defense, Kaya stated that he fulfilled his journalistic duty and that journalism was on trial in the lawsuit filed against him. Stating that his technical equipment was seized by the Diyadin District Gendarmerie Command during his detention, were not returned to him despite the court's decision, Kaya demanded that his technical equipment to be given back to him.
A WARRANT TO BE WRITTEN AGAIN
The court decided to write another warrant to the District Gendarme Command for the return of Kaya's confiscated technical equipment and postponed the hearing to 20 January 2022.
