NEWS CENTER - Criticizing the presence of foreign forces in their territory, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, said it is time for Turkey to withdraw its troops from northwest Syria and end the occupation.
Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad criticized the presence of foreign forces on its territory and demanded that Turkey withdraw its troops and end the occupation. At the same time, Mikdad reiterated the US should also withdraw its troops, describing Bashar Assad's last meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow as "the best visit to date".
'WE TRUST RUSSIA'
According to El Vatan Newspaper, Mikdad made evaluations regarding Esad's visits to Moscow and its relations with Russia. Mikdad stated that the Damascus administration "does not disagree with Russia on the priorities required by the fight against terrorism" and said the following about its relations with Russia: "We trust our friends for several reasons. First of all, they are committed to the UN Charter, international criteria and multipolarity in international politics. Moreover, they believe in serious action against terrorism."
'ONE OF THE BEST VISITS OF ASSAD'
Mikdad also referred to the meeting where Putin hosted Assad in Moscow and said that “the main problem in Syria is foreign powers”. The Syrian Foreign Minister evaluated Assad's visit as "one of the best visits" and said that Moscow gave them "unlimited support in the fight against terrorism".
'IT IS TIME FOR TURKEY TO WITHDRAW'
In the interview, Mikdad criticized the Turkish and American soldiers in his country's territory and stated that it is time for Turkey to withdraw its troops from northwest Syria and support a solution that guarantees normal relations with Syria after the occupation ends. Calling the US to withdraw its forces from Syria, Mikdad said, "We have many ways to persuade the Americans to leave our country, so I suggest they leave without casualties."
'OUR MAIN ENEMY IS ISRAEL'
In the continuation of the interview, Mikdad also discussed the recent rapprochement with Arab countries. Mikdad stated that this rapprochement would be beneficial for the Arab countries and said, "Our main enemy is not the Arab countries, but the Israeli formation." The Syrian Foreign Minister also stated that the Damascus administration is ready to end the tension with the Arab countries during the civil war and to open a new page to repair relations.
ASSAD: ILLEGAL EXISTANCE OF FOREIGN FORCES MUST COME TO AN END
On the other hand, the Iranian media wrote that Assad emphasized to Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan, with whom he met in Damascus yesterday, "the need to end the illegal foreign power presence on Syrian soil". Accordingly, Assad said that "the fight against terrorism will continue until the entire Syrian territory is liberated."
