NEWS CENTER - Having problems with accomodation, university students are protesting the government and sleeping in the parks in different cities. Intervening the protest of the students, police took scores of students into custpdy in İstanbul and İzmir.
University students, who cannot find a state dormitory to stay in and who have problems with housing due to economic reasons, have been trying to make their voices heard with the protests they have been carrying out for days. Students took to the streets in different cities once again last night and asked for solutions to their housing problems. However, there were police interventions against students in Istanbul and Izmir.
The students, who wanted to continue their protest in Moda Park on the 8th day, faced brutal intervention of the police. It was reported that nearly 50 university students were detained during the intervention.
In the statement made by People's Houses in Twitter, it was said, "Nearly 50 students were detained as a result of the police intervention on the students. Sheltering is a basic right. Release the detained students! #YurtsuzlarGözaltında"
POLICE INTERVENTION IN IZMIR
Police also attacked the students staying in Hasan Ağa Park in İzmir. Around 50 students were detained as a result of the police intervention. The students were taken to İzmir Police Department.
6 FEMALE STUDENTS WERE EXPELLED FROM THE DORMITORY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT
6 female students were expelled from the Girl's Dormitory late last night. Students of Munzur University who gathered in front of the dormitory and protested the situation.
