MARDİN - Halil Y. who was 'persuaded' by his family to return which was published by the pro-government media with headlines such as 'Former PKK member reunited with his family', was sentenced to life imprisonment plus 13 years and 9 months of prison sentence.
The people instructed by the government to stage a sit in in front of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Diyarbakır Provincial Building since September 2019 claiming that their sons and dayghters were kidnapped by the PKK, are attempting to have their children surrender with the instructions of the police, gendermerie and National Intelligence Organization (MİT) members. Dozens of families in Mardin were called by the police and the gendermerie and asked the families to get in touch with their children in the PKK and promise that they will be released once they surrender.
Halil Y. and Irak national Cesur K. crossed the border on December 16, 2019 as a result of their families trying to persuade them and surrendered.
