Emine Şenyaşar had lost her husband and two sons as the result of the attack of AKP MP Halil İbrahim Yıldız, his guards, and relatives on 14 June 2018 in the Suruç district of Urfa. She and her son who survived the attack injured had started the sit in on March 9. Şenyaşar family came in front of the court house early in the morning and started the sit in for the day.
Emine Şenyaşar reminded that attorneys will convey their demands on the 200th day and said: “We are being persecuted here. They beat us and detained us here. The cops are watching our every move. For nearly 200 days, what we saw here could only be defined as tyranny. We want this cruelty to end and justice to be provided. Prosecutors have closed their doors to our face, they refuse to talk to us. I can no longer sit at home. Let all the lawyers be here on Friday, let them know how many lawyers we have here, let them come here. We are two people here, we need the help of the lawyers. When I see them here, I will be a little happy, let them come and make me happy."
The family shared the following message from Twitter: "A massacre was committed in the Suruç State Hospital. There still is a confidentiality order on the file for the last three years. Words are insufficient to describe the injustice we are experiencing."
