ANKARA – The Kobanê Case, in which lawyers objected to the procedure, has been postponed until tomorrow. It was decided that former MPs İbrahim Binici, Altan Tan and Can Memiş be kept in probate from the hearings.
The 4th hearing of the Kobanê Case, where 108 people, 20 of whom are currently behind bars, including the executives of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), was held at the Sincan Prison Campus today.
The lawyers of the complainant read a section from the interview given to journalist Ahmet Hakan on October 15, 2014 and asked Tan whether he felt responsible for the call made by the HDP.
TAN: THE POLICE OFFICERS WHO DID NOT PREVENT THE EVENTS UNFOLD, ARE IN PRISON FOR BEING A MEMBER OF GÜLEN ORGANISATION
Tan answered the question as follows: "I do not feel guilty because I did not do anything wrong. The police also has to self-criticize. The police officers who did not prevent the events unfold are in prison for being a member of Gülen organisation. They are trying to make it look like the democratic calls lead to these events. But it was also discussed why the police did not try to prevent the events unfold in Diyarbakır. There was never any incitement to terrorism or murder.”
The prosecution, which the court board promised to give an opinion, gave an opinion on the rejection of all the requests made by the lawyers and the requests of some defendants to be excluded from the hearings.
The hearing was postponed until 10.00 tomorrow.
