MARDİN - Autopsy procedures of the Êzidî woman murdered by Serkan Ö. in Midyat is completed. Confessing the murder in his statement, Serkan Ö. made accusations against the woman he killed.
An Êzidî woman named Baran Hasan Rasho in the Midyat district of Mardin was killed by a 25 year-old man named Serkan Ö. with a gun. While Rasha lost her life on scene, the perpetrator who fleed the scene was taken into custody at a check point at the enterance of the district.
After the incident, the Mardin Chief Public Prosecutor's Office contacted the Iraqi Consulate in order to reach the relatives of the woman. Following the talks with the consulate, it was stated that Rasho's family lives in Europe and could not be reached yet. While Rasho's body was taken to the morgue after autopsy procedures in Mardin State Hospital, it was determined that she was shot three times with a fire arm. It was reported that Rasho died "as a result of gunshot wounds".
PERPETRATOR ACCUSED THE WOMAN HE KILLED
Serkan Ö. gave his statement at the Gendermerie Command. Stating that Rasho threatened him in his statement, Serkan Ö. made accusations against the woman he killed. Confessing the murder later, the perpetrator told that he shot Rasho three times, as the autopsy report confirmed.
Serkan Ö. is expected to be taken to Midyat Court House later today.
