NEWS CENTER - There has been no news for days from 4 people, including 3 politicians, who were detained by KDP forces.
Members of the Defend Kurdistan Initiative, including foreign parliamentarians, which was established to stop the ongoing cross-border operation of Turkey against the Federated Kurdistan Region tried to get to Hewler, but was blockaded by the KDP. Democratic Union Party (PYD) Hewlêr Representative Mistefa Osman Xelîl, Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Representative Jihad Hesen and PYD member Mistefa Ezîz Mistê, who went to meet them, were detained by KDP forces.
21 days have passed since they were detained, and there is still no news from the politicians. The regional administration did not give any information to the PYD and the Autonomous Administration on this matter.
In the statement made by the PYD Administration on the day that Hewler Representatives Xelîl and its members, along with the Autonomous Administration representative Hesen, were taken into custody, the following was noted: “The detentions were made at a time when dialogue between Kurds would occur. This hindered the conclusion of the dialogue efforts and KDP is responsible for this. At the same time, this attitude serves the enemy. So far, we have not been given any information about the detention of our friends.”
The Northern and Eastern Syria Autonomous Administration Representative made a statement on June 22 and demanded to be informed about the detained Autonomous Administration and PYD representatives.
On the other hand, a young man named Ciwan Ebdulkerim from Northern and Eastern Syria, who went to the Federated Kurdistan Region for the treatment of his sick mother, was detained at the Habur Border Gate. Like the other three politicians, this young man has not been heard from for 23 days.
