Armed assailant Onur Gencer shot and killed Peoples' Democratic Party  İzmir Provintial Organization employee Deniz Poyraz whom he took hostage in the building. While the assailant is taken into custody, party members started to gather in front of the party building. People are shouting slogans “Şehit namirin” (Martyrs never die), "HDP is the people, people are here" and "AKP will be held accountable".

 

REACTION OF THE MOTHER 

 

Poyraz's mother Fehime Poyraz came to the party building and wanted to see the remains of her daughter. Barricading the building, the police did not allow her to see her daughter. Poyraz said: "They don't allow me to see my daughter. They murdered her and don't let me see her. I am a mother, no one can dare to shut me up! Kurdish people have always stood strong. My daughter is gone, but thousands will be coming!"
