ANKARA - Staging a sit in at the parliament after he was stripped of from his status as an MP, HDP MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu was detained at the parliament.
Continuing the sit in he defines as the 'Justice watch' at the parliamen, HDP Kocaeli MP Ömer Faruk Gergerlioğlu was tried to be detained by the police while he was going to the bathroom early this morning. Wearing sweatpants, Gergerlioğlu was detained after being dragged from the bathroom. It was stated that Gergerlioğlu was detained by more than a hundred riot police on grounds of a new investigation carried out by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
BEING AT THE PARLIAMENT BUILDING IS A CRIME!
The reason for the investigation was that Gergerlioğlu was holding a "Justice Watch" in the Parliament since March 17 after his status as an MP was stripped of. Gergerlioğlu's not leaving the Parliament, still acting as a deputy, making press statements on social media, making live broadcasts, being at the parliament despite he is not an MP anymore was considered to be crimes.
Before Gergerlioğlu was taken into custody as part of the investigation of these 'criminal' allegations, the police locked all the personnel in a room.
