İSTANBUL - PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers made an application to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Justice, demanding an urgent meeting with their clients regarding the allegations shared on their social media accounts.
PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan's lawyers Mazlum Dinç, Raziye Öztürk, İbrahim Bilmez and Nevroz Uysal applied to the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Justice regarding the allegations shared on social media accounts about their client.Attorneys applying on behalf of the family and themselves, demanded that this request be accepted as soon as possible.
In the application, it was reminded that the only communication that could be established after the family meeting with Öcalan on 3 March 2020 was the phone call with his brother on 27 April 2020. In the application it was also stated that no communication was allowed in any way and that all applications were rejected on unlawful grounds or left unanswered.
The application also stressed that there were no improvements in the living conditions of the prisoner in İmralı despite the recommendations of the CPT.
The application also included, "It was observed that serious claims were made regarding the body integrity and life of the client on some internet news sites and social media accounts on 14.03.2021. It is a fact that the conditions of isolation allow such news to emerge. However, in order to eliminate the great and serious concern that this claim has created in us and in the family, we need to meet face to face. In this sense, we request that the conditions for a meeting with the family and the lawyer must be created as soon as possible, and that this visit request to be evaluated urgently, and be accepted. "
