ANKARA - HDP Co- Chair Sezai Temelli, noting that AKP- MHP government is on the verge of destruction, said: "Why should we withdraw? We must proceed. No one is satisfied with this government."

After the March 31 Local Elections and the June 23rd Istanbul Elections when the AKP-MHP government suffered a heavy defeat, the air of early elections fell short of the agenda after the government's operations against Syria. However, after the proposals for the withdrawal of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) from the parliament and the municipalities, the meetings paved the way for the HDP's political maneuver and shifted the atmosphere in domestic politics back to the early election axis.

Temelli, explaining what sort of opportunities would an early election brought to the opposition, said: "I must emphasize this, the first thing the opposition should do is to abandon the polarizing politics. Turkey have been through something at the March 31 elections that have been a lesson for everyone. They have imposed polarization on the way to the March 31 elections once again with their public and nation alliances. Being stuck in bipolar politics made the society left without any politics at all. They were loosing the political ground on which they would have fought for their rights in a democratic bases.

The only way to break this loop was to create a 'third way'. HDP have created a choice by intervening the March 31 elections. We went for this status quoist mentality, we made a move and the society approved our move. Now they say that we supported the CHP candidate. No we haven't. We intervened  the status quoist mentality, this polarizing politics. Let's not confuse the results with the reasons. Let's establish the cause-effect relationship correctly. We wanted to make the AKP- MHP government regress and we said that we will destroy them after this regression. They are almost there. They are at the verge of destruction. We told them that they were not able to govern this country, and there it is, they can't. We told them that the Presidential Government System will not work for Turkey, and they can't rule the country with it. Elections were the means to show that. And we used this with an effective strategy. They now ask if we are regretting it. Why should we?

We are now closer to the goals we set. They are appointing trustees. Tell us to withdraw. Why should we? We must proceed. No one is happy or satisfied with this government. They hae also lost their legitimacy in numerical terms. They now have a vote rate of not more than %35. But just because their hostility towards Kurds, they are imposing themselves on the peoples."
