MARDIN - Parliamentary Deputy-Chairman of HDP Mithat Sancar, who has been prevented to enter the border city of Nusaybin, where the clashes have gotten more intense, stated that there are question marks about the mortars falling to the city and said, "There is something they want to hide from us."

The comittee, including the Parliamentary Deputy-Chairman Mithat Sancar, deputies Pero Dündar and Ebru Günay of Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), who have been prevented to enter the border city Nusaybin due to security matters, held a press conference regarding to the ongoing situarion on the border line. The meeting was held in HDP Mardin Provincial Organization building.

'THERE IS SOMETHING THEY HIDE'

Sancar of HDO, who is also the Mardin deputy, reacted to the obstacle they faced yesterday and said: “They don't want us to get together with the people. That means they have something they want to keep from us.” Sancar states that they were told that they were considered inconvenient to be taken into the city. "While the Minister of Interior Affairs Süleyman Soylu and the accompanying delegation were carrying out the so-called investigations, it is not inconvenient for them to be inside the city. Then why did they see any harm in us being inside the city?", he asked.

'THERE ARE QUESTION MARKS ON FROM WHERE THE MORTARS CAME FROM'

Sancar pointed out that the government wanted to cut their party's relations with the public and reminded that mortars have dropped in many places after the attacks, "Everyone has serious questions regarding to where these mortars came from. The state needs to protect the public and eliminate these question marks. If civilian casualties are experienced, the state needs to clarify the reasons. However no inclination towards this matter is observed."

Noting that they have been giving support to the city residents in Mardin city center, Nusaybin and Kızıltepe with the "crisis desks" they organized, Sancar shared the information they have learned through the 'crisis desks' that 12 people were killed, up to 70 people were injured and that one third of Nusaybin is vacant.

'QAMISHLI TOO IS FACE TO FACE WITH BIG PROBLEMS'

Sancar who indicates that the government is disturbed by the work carried out in the regiom by the 'crisis desks' states also that, "Not only Nusaybin but also Qamishli faces great problems. These operations will create sources of deep conflict. These attacks will not provide a solution in any way. No political power can maintain its existence through war policies. We will make no compromises on our position of defending peace against war. We will continue standing together with our people. These war politicies are also meant to aim another goal which is to put the whole Turkey under captivity."
