MARDİN - HDP Mardin Mo Ebru Günay who spoke at the Democracy Watch on its 44th day, said 'We need to clear the way for a genuine democracy, to a genuine judiciary, for a fair and equal judicial system. Because we need a judicial system that does not act accordinly with the will of the power to create a democratic country.'
The Democracy Watch initiated by People's Democratic Party (HDP) against the appointments of trustees in Diyarbakır, Mardin and Van continued on its 44th day. The party building was blockaded by the police before the sit in as usual.
HDP Mardin Deputy Ebru Günay spoke after the sit-in.
Noting that the Democracy Watch continues for 44 days, Günay said that they would continue to defend their rights and put forth the real will of the people. Günay stated that the municipalities cannot be managed by the trustees or the appointees and said: "The appointment of trustees is an attack against the gains of women's struggle. Günay stating that a police officer, Ercan Uysaler, who was appointed by the Mardin trustee Mustafa Yaman forced a woman into prostitution and emphasized that they will be following up on that.
Günay stating that the nej Judiciary Reform Package was on the agenda of the parliament that re-opened today, said: "We need to clear the way for a genuine democracy, to a genuine judiciary, for a fair and equal judicial system.
