NEWS CENTER - In the first 6 months of 2019, the number of refugees in the European Union increased by 10 percent compared to last year and exceeded 300 thousand. The increase in the number of asylum seekers in the EU worries Brussels and other capitals.

It has been learned that the number of refugees in the European Union (EU) has increased in the first 6 months of this year. According to data released by the EU asylum agency EASO, from January to June 2019, a total of 305,000 people set foot in the member states and applied for asylum. The increase in the number of asylum applications by 10 percent compared to the same period of 2018 raises concerns in EU capitals.

However, in the first country where refugees set foot, it is important for the EU to register and apply because it is estimated that there are many refugees living illegally in the continent. The rate of accepted asylum applications is between 30-50 per cent across the EU. In other words, one out of three asylum seekers receive a positive response to their asylum application. Germany having the same ratio attracts attention.
