Women's organizations operating under the name of the Anti-Violence Network in Diyarbakır blazoned the city with purple and black colors in order to draw attention to women's murders. In this context, the People's Democratic Party (HDP) and the Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) Diyarbakır province buildings and Kayapınar Municipality service building were hung purple pennants and cloths. Women hanging purple and black pennants on the balconies and windows of many houses in the city hung purple and black ribbons on their vehicles in order to attract attention in traffic.
