Özgür Gündem trial adjourned to 28 November

İSTANBUL - The 13th hearing of the Özgür Gündem newspaper main case, against 9 journalists was  adjourned to 28 November.
 
 
The hearing of the Özgür Gündem newspaper main case was adjourned to 28 November when the court accepted the request made by the Prosecutor to have more time to prepare his opinion on the merits.
 
Lawyer Eren Keskin, former Co-Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper and Necmiye Alpay, a member of the Editorial Advisory Board, were at the hearing with their lawyers.
 
Lawyer Erdal Doğan, on behalf of the defense, demanded the acquittal of all defendants reiterating that in fact what is on trial is freedom of thought and expression.
 
The prosecutor then asked for time to prepare his opinion on the merits.
 
A request accepted by the court that adjourned the hearing to 28 November.
