GALLER - İmam Şiş who had been on hunger strike against isolation in İmralı for 161 days, said: "This was a time where Kurdish people resisted on base of self criticism. It was the most meaningful time of my life."
The hunger strike against the isolation of PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan which was lead by Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair Leyla Güven lead and thousands of political prisoners attended, was called of with the message of Öcalan on May 26.
Şiş who stated that the Kurdish Press have done a marvellous job during the hunger strikes and thanked the Kurdish Press for helping them follow up on the process transiently. İmam Şiş who emphasized that times like this, full of resistance, creates an unbreakable bond between the comrades, said: "The owners of this process was our friends who made the sacrifical actions that resulted them in losing their lives. I am bowing respectfully before them. We have learned a lot from this process. But the resistance is not over yet. Our leader is still in prison and the problems in Rojova continues. So does the struggle of the Kurdish people. We got involved in this resistance by self criticism. So did our people. Leyla Güven have initiated a historical resistance. I told her when I spoke to her on the phone..Kurdish people are grateful to her."
