Citizens: We don't know what will happen to us if we speak

DİYARBAKIR - Citizens who state that the people are under isolation but avoid talking about the hunger strikes, said: "We don't know what will happen to us if we speak."

The hunger strikes prisoners started demanding the end of isolation continues, as well as the death fasts. Some citizens we handed the microphone to in Diyarbakır,stated that they can't talk about the hunger strikes because of the oppression while some citizens pointed out that there is oppression on people and said the Koşuyolu Park is an example of the isolation. 
 
'THEY TAKE US IN AND ARREST US'
 
One of the citizens Teyfik Kabak (75), stating that he never have seen such pressure before in his life, said the police and the government are oppressing them. Kabak who stated that if a few people come together they take them in and arrest them, said: "Can you arrest people without any investigation? Before proving they are criminals? They sentence people to years of prison without any investigation."
 
'WE WANT JUSTICE'
 
Farmer Muhammed Duru (26), stating that they can't express themselves openly, said 'They say Kurds and Turks are brothers.But still we can't talk about the hunger strikes.' Duru, who stated that they only want justice, said he doesn't know what will happen to him if he talks.
 
Ümit Biskar who stated that there are people in prison for reading a certain newspaper, said the fact that they closed down the Koşuyolu Park is an intimidation.
 
 
Kadri Fidan (55) who stated that people's demand for justice is being criminalized, said:" If we get together with 50 people here, 50 water cannons will show up. They will accuse us of being PKK. People are scared of talking with the fear they can get arrested for it."
 
Fidan who stated that he was never free in Diyarbakır, said the isolation on PKK Leader Abdullah Öcalan must be removed and that he should be able to see his lawyers.
